“Conflict is natural and neutral; we can only control our response to it in the hope that we can achieve a positive outcome.”

Trainings
Vermont Mediation and Facilitation offers training on intentional communication, deescalation, conflict resolution and restorative practices. We have worked with businesses, community groups, schools and social service providers to build and practice concrete skills that can lead to shaping conflict into an opportunity for growth. Training is focused on helping participants reflect on and improve their communication skills to successfully move through conflict and connect with others. learn more here.
Family Mediation
Whether you’re going through a divorce or separation, navigating co-parenting issues or caring for a family member, mediation can help!
Mediation will offer a space for all parties to voice their needs and offer solutions. Although conversations may be difficult, mediated agreements are controled by participants and are often more sustainable than solutions or mandates from a third party such as a judge. learn more here.
Client Testimonials:
“As a cafe manager, I hired Mike to lead a deescalation training for our staff. The session was engaging and provided both the owner and me valuable insight into our team's concerns. It also gave everyone an opportunity to role-play and practice different deescalation techniques in a supportive environment.”
“Mike supported me during a mediation I had with a former employer. My employer had a multitude of lawyers on their side of the table and it was so incredibly helpful as a trans person to not be negotiating alone. Mike’s assurances, suggestions and support helped me leave the mediation feeling like I had made the right decision to negotiate. I would highly recommend Mike as a coach or mediator, especially when mediation involves people from marginalized backgrounds.”
“This training was incredibly beneficial for our team in strengthening our work with families. It provided practical strategies that helped staff approach family interactions with greater confidence, empathy and clarity. Mike supported our team in learning that every intervention can be a tool, even silence. I'd highly recommend working with him.”
